Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

A chicken was fined $54 by a California court for illegally crossing a road. But the case was thrown out when the chicken's owner's lawyer argued that the fowl was domesticated and therefore could not be considered livestock. The law is against livestock using public roadways.
